The St Peter’s Cathedral

The St Peter’s Cathedral is a place of worship and the Mother Church of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide. The Cathedral is open to visitors throughout the week and houses a large range of events and performances. The Cathedral can comfortably seat 600 with just the pews but an extra 200 chairs can be shifted over. There is also a small upstairs gallery which can seat 50 comfortably bringing the comfortable maximum seated capacity to 850. The Cathedral sees regular performances by the Cathedral Choir and organists from across the globe, the Adelaide Chamber Singers, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, and other highly regarded musicians from around the world.

The Cathedral has an upright piano however the grand piano from the Cynthia Poulton can be moved upon request. There is of course the Grand Organ, which can be hired by approval of the Director of Music and Principal Organist. There is also an integrated sound system with 2 handheld wireless microphones, 4 wired microphones, and high powered lighting with movable spotlights. There is also a selection of risers that can be used upon request.
