St Peter’s Cathedral is a South Australian icon that by its very presence in the community reaches out to people. Thousands of people – members of the Cathedral community, and visitors from around Adelaide and South Australia, as well as interstate and overseas – enjoy the ambience of the building. People know, or discover, it as a place of stillness, where prayers can be said, candles lit, and a friendly face found.
Known by cricket lovers the world over as the “Cathedral End,” Adelaide Oval is on our doorstep, while we have a long-standing relationship with and ministry to the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital nearby.

-
Outreach
Here at St Peter’s Cathedral, we maintain a strong connection with our community through volunteering and pastoral visits. If you know someone who may need a pastoral visit or you’re interested in our involvement with other community engagments, please click the buttone below.

The Friends of St Peter's Cathedral
The Friends of the Cathedral assist the Dean and Cathedral Council by raising funds for the preservation and development of the Cathedral and its precincts. The friends also support activities and devotional life and provide a link between the many people who have the interest of the Cathedral at heart and support it through prayer, both within the local Cathedral family and far beyond.

Social Gatherings
The Cathedral family is a vibrant group of ordinary people who strive to remain inclusive and welcoming. Part of the nature of a Cathedral is that there are always visitors. Please don’t be afraid to ask about our worship and opportunities for you to become part of the community. One of the best ways to begin to get to know people is to stay for morning tea or coffee after the 8.00am and 10.30am services on Sundays.
Volunteering
We rely on the work of volunteers in many forms. Our volunteers welcome visitors to the building, look after the property, assist with morning teas, and are key to our services running smoothly. If you’re interested in being a volunteer, you can look at our current vacancies and apply here.
